Luckily, Kaylee has always been a mommy's girl. I remember when she was a toddler and she became obsessed with my hair. Kaylee would suck her thumb and twirl my hair in her hands for hours if I didn't stop her. It was oddly comforting at times to have her so close and comfy; loving her mommy more than anyone.

Today as the girls and I were walking through a grocery store parking lot, I reached for their hands to keep them safely next to me. Gaby eagerly grasped my hand while Kaylee whose only eight held it for maybe 10 seconds and then let go. I asked her why she didn't want to hold her mother's hand and she just looked shyly down. My little girl was too embarrassed to hold my hand in public. My heart broke a little today as I'm sure it will continue to as she gets older. I miss my little snuggle bunny.
